I love your perspective on doing this! I've been using it for over 2 weeks and I have over 70 subscribers, even tho I don't consider myself i writer I'm enjoying the process of writing and learning about expressing myself using words.
I imagine the “freelance writer” bit is your anchor, your niche, that people latch onto and subscribe. But, to me the whole point of freelancing is to have more control over how you spend your life. More freedom to explore and to live. So with that, I’d say, keep exploring your interests and writing about them here. Take us along on your journey :)
Thanks for your comment. I agree! I'm going to try to show some behind the scenes of life as a freelancer outside of the project/working part. I think there's a common misconception though because I am more "free", but I work more than when I had a FT job. I think that's something to write about too!
I am very new to writing and Substack. It's been about 6 months. Hence, I'm getting used to all of it!
As far as your inquiry about what to write next, seriously vs. comedically I say: You be You. We all have different aspects of our thoughts through out every day. It makes us human and more interesting.
I use Notion to store all of my ideas, to plan my content and to write my drafts - exactly as you say, it limits distraction - and I can access it from anywhere, including on my phone. I love notes, but it can be a bit addictive for sure so limiting time on there is probably best 😁
Wow, you blew up! That’s exciting. Substack seems like an incredible way to grow your following. One of my first few posts gained a lot of traction and I’m so grateful. Can only wish I started earlier, but no better time like the present. I just wonder if Substack will always be this cool or if it will change like so many other platforms. Change is inevitable, but I’m hoping since the platform’s success is so tied to writers’ successes, that any change will be a good thing.
Another great post Alexis! Sometimes I think I've got the creativity part down in my newsletter and then I stumble on a newsletter and I'm just blown away. Lot's of inspiration here. Getting better one day at a time! Cheers :)

That's great progress! You ARE a writer! ;)

Thanks, Michelle! I appreciate you answering that question. I’m gonna keep being me! 😉
Absolutely number three 3️⃣😅
Just gotta do it! 😻
Good list, but reads like a post, not a note. Why not split it into 6 and then you're done for the week? Use the extra time to write a post.
Hi Nicholas,
It is a post! But I could also break it down into Notes and repurpose the content. Thanks for the idea! ;)
Fair enough!
Love your page and layout! I was using yours as my inspiration haha but I guess we're always second guessing.
I’m glad it helped! And yes, that’s true. Guess it’s human nature.
I literally looked at your homepage to help me with mine lol
Hahah. That’s funny! Still figuring mine out!
Yay! Thanks for the mention 😍😍😍 I think you nailed it with this overview Alexis!
You're welcome! And thank you! Nothing you would add?

It's much easier without the distractions, for sure! I love Notion.
You are doing a heap better than I am, in just six weeks! Well done :-)
Thanks, Freya!

Hi Suzanne,
I also hope it doesn't change too much and remains a platform for writers vs another full fledged social media network full of clickbait. 🤞

Lots of inspiration indeed. It's great! Thanks for your kind words.
I fully embrace #3! 🙌🏻
😻🚀 I'm working on it!
Thanks for the shoutout, Alexis. Much appreciated.
You're welcome, Brian!
